Yarn Care Symbols

Here is a list of the universal care symbols. This page shows some of the symbols you will find on yarn labels and how to understand them. I have found this information to be very valuable. I  bookmarked this page on my laptop for quick reference. When I am either blocking or washing my knitted project I take a quick look at these care symbols to make sure I am taking the correct steps for caring for my knitted item.

I appreciate your listing of these symbols and have bookmarked it for quick reference.

On Sock-a-Licious Kollage yarn, there was a trapazoid symbol with a picture of a sweater in it. Is that referring to needing to be blocked? I thought maybe you would like to look into it and add it to this fine collection.

      Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for your kind words. I have this page bookmarked as well.
I just checked out the Sock-a-Licious Kollage yarn website and I can’t find the trapazoid symbol you are talking about. I have never seen anything like that before. I would like to see it and add it to my list as you suggested. If you know where it is could you copy the link in the browser so I can go right to it. Thanks.
P.S. Tomorrow is open knitting at my LYS. I will ask the other ladies if any of them have seen that symbol before and let you know if I get an answer.
